Our Company, Edge Enterprises
Back in 1984, we started Edge Enterprises with one goal in mind: to provide educators with materials and instructional methods that really worked—materials that were based on research and methods that could be replicated step-by-step. We began to publish a small number of teacher manuals containing methods that had been thoroughly researched and that proved to work. These first manuals focused on teaching students learning strategies or tools for completing basic academic tasks.
Today, all of our products are still research-based, but the number and kinds of products we publish has expanded greatly. We still publish books about methods for teaching learning strategies, but we also publish a variety of other books—books that can be used by both general and special education teachers. All are research-based and feature step-by-step explanations written in clear, concise English. They’re written for teachers and parents who are short on time but long on their desire to make sure children succeed. We also have a number of CD programs that prove the old adage “A picture is worth a thousand words.” Thus, whether you’re looking for a way to teach reading, writing, math, social skills or a variety of subject areas, check out our listing of fine products and see what we can do to help. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, please feel free to contact us by e-mail. We’ll do our best to match you up with something that can help you.
If you are interested in reading a summary of the research study that was conducted to empirically validate a certain product, click on the “Research” tab on each product page. At least one rigorous research study was conducted for each product. The reference for the research study can be found at the end of each research summary. If you are interested in learning more about the developer of each product and the story behind the development of the product, click on the first author’s name. If you want to see the other products an author has developed, click on the author’s name.
